Job Summary:
The operating room open heart specialist will be working in Bismarck, North Dakota, within a facility that specializes in cardiovascular procedures. The role involves supporting thoracic and vascular cases, primarily open heart surgeries such as coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG), valve repairs, and aneurysm repairs. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Location: Bismarck, North Dakota
- Certifications Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) Certificate, License to Submit
- Years of Experience: 2 years of cardiovascular operating room experience
- Schedule: 0645-1515 M-F, with start at 6:00 a.m. for open heart case preparation (notified the day before). Shifts include 3-4 times per week, with call from 1515-0645, and every other to third weekend from Friday at 1515 to Monday at 0645.
- Additional Requirements: Rotation to work holidays, willingness to cross-train into general operating room if cases are low, float to the floor as a 1:1 sitter or to other operating room specialties, and ability to pick up extra shifts for 1:1 sitting.
- Submission Requirements: RTO (Request for Time Off) needed upfront for contracts of 7 or fewer days within a 13-week period; additional RTO requests will not be approved.
- Additional Information: The department maintains a family atmosphere and requires personnel to be flexible with holiday work.
