Operating Room First Assist Open Heart (ORFA OH) — Salem, VA. This position involves supporting cardiovascular surgery procedures within our surgical unit. The role requires collaboration with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care during complex cardiac and thoracic operations.
Job Details
- Position Description: The role supports cardiovascular surgeries, including CABG, thoracotomy, endovascular AAA repair, valve replacements, and pacemaker insertions. The unit comprises 2 OR suites with 6 staff members, including RNs and CSTs.
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in Operating Room First Assist, with required certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Schedule: Day shift, 10-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Candidates should possess CVOR experience and scrubbing skills, and exhibit flexibility, knowledge, and self-starting qualities to adapt to a dynamic surgical environment. Weekday, weekend, and holiday call are required.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must meet the listed qualifications and be available to start on 08/31/2026, with the assignment ending on 11/30/2026.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
