Job Summary:
The Certified Operating Room Technician (ORT CERT) position is located in a healthcare facility where the candidate will support surgical teams across various specialties including General, Gynecology, Plastics, Urology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Vascular, and Endoscopy. This role involves working in a fast-paced OR environment with diverse case types, utilizing advanced robotic surgical systems such as Da Vinci and Mako Robots. The position requires a flexible schedule with rotating shifts, including weekday and weekend on-call responsibilities, and adherence to hospital protocols.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, four 10-hour shifts per week with various start times (e.g., 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM, or 11:00 AM - 9:30 PM).
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in AHA Basic Life Support (BLS); active NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting) or NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing) or AST (Authorization for Surgical Technology). Valid driver’s license with address matching demographics. Up-to-date resume demonstrating 1 or more years of experience in the specialty, with documentation of travel experience (first-time travelers will not be considered). Two recent references from managers/supervisors in the same specialty. Skills checklist matching the specialty.
- Additional Information: EMR experience preferred, particularly with EPIC. Must be able to work every other major holiday. Flu vaccine required during flu season. RTO (Request for Time Off) needs to be included at the time of submission; it is not guaranteed after confirmation.
