Job Summary:
Occupational Therapist Outpatient (OT OP) position located in Abilene, Texas. Job Details:

- Required Qualifications: Two years of Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) experience in long-term care (LTC) setting, Texas (TX) or compact license, and Director of Rehabilitation (DOR) experience are required.
- Preferred Qualifications: DOR experience is preferred.
- Additional Information:
- Executes specialized therapy plans designed by the OT, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and activities to improve motor skills and coordination.
- Teaches patients how to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, and eating, often using adaptive techniques.
- Instructs patients and families on how to use adaptive equipment like reachers, mobility aids, or modified kitchen utensils.
- Records detailed notes on patient progress, behavioral changes, and safety concerns, reporting these findings to the supervising OT to adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Provides emotional encouragement to patients and trains caregivers on how to assist with home programs.
- Prepares treatment areas, cleans equipment, and may handle administrative duties like scheduling and billing.
