Job Summary:
Falmouth, Massachusetts — an outpatient setting is seeking an Occupational Therapist specializing in inpatient care. The position involves evaluating and treating adult and pediatric patients using occupational therapy modalities. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. This role requires orthopedic experience and may benefit from a Hand Therapist background, though it is not an essential qualification.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shift, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution; valid license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Additional Information: The therapist will evaluate new patients, set objective goals for functional outcomes, develop treatment plans, administer diagnostic testing, fabricate adaptive equipment or splints, modify treatments based on patient progress, and document all care accurately. Responsibilities include patient and family education, communication with medical and allied health personnel, maintaining equipment and supplies, providing guidance to support staff and students, and participating in clinical instruction and departmental meetings. Flexibility to perform other related duties as assigned is required.
