Medical Technologist (MT) – Hebron, NE. This position involves performing laboratory testing in various departments such as chemistry, microbiology, hematology, and others, in accordance with CLIA standards. The role requires accurate test performance, adherence to quality assurance programs, and maintaining professional standards to support patient care and laboratory operations.
Job Details
- Certifications: ASCP or AMT professional certification, valid license in accordance with state law.
- Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science.
- Location Requirements: Must be able to work in Hebron, NE.
- Years of Experience: Minimum of 1 year required.
- Schedule: Day shift, rotating hours, 8 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Participate in proficiency testing and quality assurance activities.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory standards and safety protocols.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Collect specimens from patients of all ages and perform tests in areas including urinalysis, chemistry, microbiology, coagulation, serology, hematology, and transfusion services.
- Prepare specimens for send out or mailing; maintain accurate documentation and reports.
- Coordinate ordering and receiving laboratory supplies.
- Use computers, LIS/HIS systems, and EMR proficiently.
- Share in rotation for on-call duties for emergency tests during nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with medical staff and colleagues.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Attend seminars, workshops, and departmental meetings.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and environmentally friendly work environment.
