Job Summary
Mammographer in the specialty of Mammography is based in the healthcare organization’s imaging department. This role involves performing prescribed mammography procedures in accordance with department policies, ensuring high-quality images, and providing patient education and safety during imaging processes. The position supports optimal patient care and collaborates with the interdisciplinary health care team.
Job Details
- Requires national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), licensure by the state regulatory agency as applicable, and mandatory BLS certification. Advance certification in Mammography must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
- Schedule: Day shifts, 8 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Responsibilities include verifying and following referring providers’ orders, maintaining equipment quality control, troubleshooting, and documenting procedures accurately.
- Ensures a safe environment for patients, personnel, and visitors, adhering to safety policies and protocols.
- Demonstrates professional conduct in all interactions, maintains confidentiality, and ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Provides an excellent service experience to all external and internal customers.
- The candidate will be expected to perform prescribed procedures independently and ensure workflow efficiency.
- The role may require occasional Saturday shifts and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- No specific experience requirement beyond the basic certification and licensure.
