Job Summary:
Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) needed for a healthcare setting in a day shift. The role involves supporting vascular access procedures, biopsies, drainages, angiograms with interventions, and other specialty procedures. Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in interventional radiology with valid ARRT certification, and an RT degree is preferred. The position requires infrequent floating to other units, primarily to the operating room for specific procedures, with weekend shifts every 4th or 5th weekend and weekly call.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Day shift, 10 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification; minimum of 2 years of experience in interventional radiology; RT degree and VIR (Vascular & Interventional Radiology) certification preferred
- Additional Information: Involves supporting vascular access procedures such as hemodialysis catheter insertions/exchanges, CVC access, port placements, biopsies guided by CT and ultrasound, chest tube insertions, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and insertion/exchange of drainage catheters, nephrostomy tubes, biliary drains, and pleurx catheters. The role includes angiograms with interventions like stenting and angioplasty, as well as gastrostomy and jejunostomy exchanges. A half-day per month, a sports medicine doctor performs simple procedures such as ESIs.
