Job Summary:
Interventional Radiology Clinical Nurse Specialist (RN) or Radiologic Technologist (RT) based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This position involves assisting with a variety of advanced interventional radiology procedures using GE and Siemens imaging equipment. The role requires providing high-quality patient care in a busy, 24/7 department, supporting procedures such as kyphoplasty, embolizations, and neuro IR cases, while working with a dedicated team in a comprehensive trauma center.

Job Details:

  • Position: Interventional Radiology Clinical Nurse Specialist (RN) or Radiologic Technologist (RT)
  • Schedule: 10-hour shifts, minimum of 40 hours per week, starting on 08/24/2026
  • Required Qualifications:
    • RN: BLS, ACLS, Wisconsin License, 1 year of IR experience, general IR case experience, ability to monitor and chart patients, perform sedation, and utilize EPIC EMR (preferred)
    • RT (Radiologic Technologist): ARRT, BLS, Wisconsin License, 1 year of IR experience, scrub and circulate general IR cases, experienced with GE and Siemens imaging equipment, comfortable with charging/coding procedures (preferred but not required)
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Neuro IR experience for RN (send for manager approval if RT does not have Neuro experience)
    • Experience with General IR procedures such as kyphoplasty, embolization, and neuro procedures including strokes and spinal angios
    • Familiarity with MedRad injector and ultrasound (GE) devices
  • Patient Types:
    • All adult patients, no pediatric cases
    • Department operates 24/7, with approximately 40-50 patients per day
  • Support Staff:
    • Receptionists/HUCs: Two coordinators
    • Lead Techs: Two, sometimes three in an involved case
    • Techs: Two per exam room, with rotating call coverage
    • Respiratory Therapy: 24/7 coverage
    • Hospitalists: 24/7 coverage
    • CNA/Transporters: Available 24/7, may assist with patient transport
  • Technology and Equipment:
    • GE and Siemens imaging equipment experience preferred
    • IV pumps: Alaris
    • Medication dispensing: Pyxis
    • PACS: Change Healthcare
    • Other equipment: Ultrasound (GE), Laser, Bovie, Angiojet (experience not required)
  • Orientation: One to two weeks with a preceptor, managed on-site
  • Scheduling & Call:
    • Weekday call (Monday-Thursday): once per week, EOS at 0700 next day
    • Weekend call (Friday-Sunday): once every 5th weekend, EOS at 0700 Monday morning
    • Neuro call only if Neuro IR experience available; otherwise, general IR call only
    • Response time for call: 30 minutes
    • No holidays currently scheduled, but subject to change
    • Shift times when on call: 0700-1530 (General IR), 0730-1600 (Neuro IR)
    • Flexibility in shift structure (e.g., four 10-hour shifts or mixed) is possible
