Job Summary:
The Interventional Radiology (IR) RN and RT(R) professionals are sought for placements in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role involves performing advanced IR procedures on adult patients in a facility that is a Level III Trauma Center and comprehensive stroke center. Candidates are required to bring their licenses on the first day of placement.
Job Details:
- Location: Milwaukee, WI
- Schedule: 10-hour shifts, with general IR shifts from 07:00 AM to 03:30 PM and neuro IR shifts from 07:30 AM to 04:00 PM. The schedule cycle and shift times may be altered based on operational needs.
- Required Qualifications: Wisconsin license for registered nurses (RN) and radiologic technologists (RT[R]); Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; minimum 1 year of IR experience for RN and RT(R); experience with adult patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures, including sedation administration, monitoring, and charting; scrubbing and panning experience; EMR experience with EPIC preferred for RN.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with GE and Siemens imaging equipment; neuro IR experience for RN; comfort with charging and coding procedures preferred.
- Support on the Unit: Two receptionists/Human Resources coordinators, two lead technicians, two techs per examination room (up to three during complex cases), respiratory therapy staff, hospitalists, and 24/7 CNA/transporter support.
- Technology/Equipment: Experience with GE and Siemens imaging equipment preferred; MedRad injectors; ultrasound (GE), Laser, Bovie, AngioJet; EPIC electronic medical records system preferred for RN staff.
- Orientation: One to two weeks with a preceptor, with check-off upon completion.
- Scheduling & Call: On-call required for weekdays (Monday-Thursday) and weekends (Friday-Sunday), once every 5 to 6 weeks; response time is 30 minutes. No holidays currently, but subject to change. RTO (Request Time Off) approvals up to 7 days are available. Shift times can be modified, including four 10-hour shifts or other configurations.
- Additional Information: Candidate must be comfortable with performing General IR procedures such as kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty, central lines, PICCs, ports, fistulograms, IVC filters, nephrostomy tubes, coils, embolizations, and neuro IR including strokes and embolizations.
