Job Summary:
The Milwaukee, Wisconsin, area is seeking a qualified Interventional Radiology Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) Technician. This position involves working in a fast-paced, high-acuity Cath Lab environment with a variety of diagnostic and interventional cases. Candidates are required to bring their Wisconsin license on the first day. The role offers an opportunity to work a flexible schedule with varying shifts and be part of a 24/7 staffed department.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Varying shifts, including 8-hour or 12-hour shifts (1200-2030 or 0800-2030) with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certified as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Radiologic Technologist (RT) with BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications, Wisconsin license, and a minimum of 3 years of experience in Cath Lab and Peripheral cases. Additional certifications such as NIH Stroke Scale (preferred), ARRT (R) and RCIS (preferred) are desirable.
- Skills: Experience with Cath Lab and peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures, conscious sedation, titrating and managing drips, scrubbing, and panning.
- Additional Information: Orientation includes one week of training. Housekeeping will handle room turnover, and storeroom staff will manage supplies. Transporters work from 0630-2000, and administrative staff are available from 0600-2000. The department is staffed 24/7 with cardiology coverage, hospitalist support, and a Critical Response Team for codes.
- Support Staff: Receptionist/Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), charge nurse, lead tech, respiratory therapist (RT), and hospitalist support.
- Charting System: EPIC.
- Equipment: GE C-arm fluoroscopy, Volcano, St. Jude, Alphavac, Angiovac, EKOS, Anari (experience not required), GE Pruka hemodynamic monitors, Fuji and ProSolvo PACS systems, Maquet IABP.
- Floating: None.
- On-Call: Required from Friday to Friday every 2-3 months, with 30-minute response time. May involve call during scheduled shifts and weekends.
- Safety: Adheres to fatigue policy limiting work to 60 hours weekly and no more than five 12-hour shifts in a row.

- Holidays: Typically, travelers do not work holidays.
