Job Summary:
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Interventional Radiology Technician (Cath Lab & IR Tech) position is based in Glendale, California. This role involves providing skilled support in a busy cath lab and IR suite environment, with a focus on diagnostic and interventional procedures such as heart catheterizations, EP studies, pacemaker and defibrillator placements, and various IR procedures. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:

  • Location: Glendale, California
  • Shift: 10-hour days, from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, with call requirements every other week, including evenings starting after the shift ends at approximately 5:00 pm. Response time for after-hours call is 30 minutes.
  • Required Qualifications: Certifications include Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA); Certified Radiologic Technologist (ARRT - R); Fluoroscopy license for technologists; minimum of 2 years of cath lab and IR experience; prior travel experience preferred. Education includes licensure and certifications as specified. The candidate must have fluoro licensure, and be able to submit their license.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in interventional radiology procedures is ideal.
  • Schedule: 10 hours per day, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Call is required every other week and after hours as specified.
  • Additional Information: The unit comprises three suites/labs with an average of 8-10 cases per day. The role involves working with a charge nurse and performing common cases such as L and R heart caths (diagnostic and interventional), EP studies, pacers, defibrillators, IR procedures including PICC line placements, central lines, swans, and pleurovacs. The facility offers telemetric monitoring with GE MacLab equipment and cardiologist on-call coverage. The department does not currently have an IV team or float requirements.
  • Cancellation Policy: The hospital can cancel up to four shifts within a 13-week assignment, or three shifts if the assignment is less than 13 weeks.
  • Charting System: Cerner
  • Shift Notes: Guaranteed 36 hours, with flexing as needed.
  • Floor Orientation: One shift on the unit is required.
