Job Summary
Operating Room Technician in the Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technology specialty, located in the San Fernando Valley area. This role focuses on assisting the surgical team during operative procedures by preparing surgical cases, maintaining sterile fields, and supporting instrumentation and supplies management to facilitate efficient surgical workflows.
Job Details
- Position: Operating Room Technician in the Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technology specialty
- Location: San Fernando Valley area
- Shift: Days, 8 hours, from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM, minimum 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: High School Education or GED; BLS certification from an approved vendor; Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification; 0 years of experience required
- Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s or Technical Degree; Scrub technician experience; Operating room experience and/or training course; Surgery Technician certification
- Essential Functions:
- Prepares for each surgical case by checking supplies and equipment
- Assembles and sets up operative instrumentation/sterile fields
- Reviews inventory for assigned specialties
- Maintains sterile fields and labels solutions appropriately
- Performs equipment cleaning and housekeeping duties as necessary
- Transports patients according to schedule and priorities
- Completes instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the nurse
- Performs clerical duties as assigned
- Submission Requirements: Valid certification and training documentation upon request
