Job Summary
Radiation Therapist (RTT) – Location unspecified. This position involves performing prescribed planned courses of radiation therapy in accordance with department protocols and professional standards. Job Details
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Must possess a strong knowledge of clinical care as normally obtained through an Associate degree in radiation oncology or related field. Requires national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensure by the state regulatory agency if applicable. BLS certification required.
- Schedule: Days shift, 8 hours per day, minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Additional Responsibilities: Independently performs prescribed radiation therapy procedures, educates patients and families on treatments, maintains accurate documentation, and ensures safety standards are met. Operates treatment and simulation equipment, performs quality control, and maintains a safe environment following radiation safety practices.
- Supervision: May direct activities of students and support staff at select facilities.
- Required Qualifications: Strong knowledge of clinical care, Associate degree in radiation oncology or related field, national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, licensure if applicable, BLS certification, and 0 years of experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous radiation therapy experience and additional related education or experience are preferred.
- Submission: Candidates must demonstrate effective communication skills, safety awareness, and the ability to perform clinical techniques and equipment applications relative to the area of work.
