Job Details
- Position Description: Performs laboratory tests on patient samples, operates and maintains laboratory equipment, and ensures quality control. Must be willing and able to work on-call and report within 30 minutes when on-call. Must perform phlebotomy, including with infants and children.
- Required Qualifications: Certified or licensed as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by an agency recognized by the Hawaii Department of Health State Laboratories Division. Hawaii State licensure as a Technologist, Technician, or Specialist. Associate degree in medical laboratory technology/tech from an accredited institution. No minimum years of experience required.
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Ability to communicate effectively in English, work both independently and in a team, and handle manual tasks and manual dexterity. Knowledge of laboratory information systems and quality assurance practices is required. This role involves working in laboratory conditions with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and infectious materials, both indoors and outdoors, with occasional travel.
