Job Summary
Mammographer – Location: unspecified. This position involves performing routine screening and diagnostic mammography at a healthcare organization. The role requires demonstrating competency in mammography positioning, compression, and technique factors, as well as ensuring all radiographic images are properly labeled and transmitted efficiently.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education, and Experience: Must possess a New York State License of Diagnostic Radiography, be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and maintain Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) requirements. No minimum years of experience required.
- Schedule: Dayshift, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a minimum of 37.5 hours per week.
- Perform routine screening and diagnostic mammography.
- Demonstrate competency in mammography positioning, compression, and technique factors.
- Ensure all radiographic images are appropriately labeled according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
- Evaluate images for technical acceptability and ensure timely transmission to Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Ensure studies are completed in the IDX system and accurately record patient tracking information.
- Additional skills include IDX system usage, patient tracking system usage, effective and efficient work habits, and PACS navigation.
