Job Summary
Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) — The organization is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist for a temporary assignment. This role involves performing routine laboratory procedures, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, and providing accurate test results to support patient diagnosis and treatment. The position requires recent blood bank experience and at least 2 years of MLT experience.
Job Details
- Position Description: Performs routine laboratory procedures according to standardized methodology by operating analyzers, spectrophotometers, colorimeters, flame photometers, and other laboratory equipment. Maintains quality results by running standards and controls, verifying equipment function through routine equipment maintenance, and advanced quality control troubleshooting. Provides blood bank services including blood group, type, and compatibility tests to prepare blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions. Ensures proper operation of all laboratory equipment through calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing laboratory findings. Maintains laboratory supplies inventory and performs other related duties as directed.
- Required Qualifications: ASCP certification; 2 years of Medical Laboratory Technologist experience; recent blood bank experience; valid certification.
- Schedule: Rotating shifts; 8 hours per shift; minimum 40 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Submission requirements include verifying 2 years of MLT experience and recent blood bank experience.
