Job Summary:
The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) registered nurse position is located in a healthcare facility that requires expertise in cardiothoracic surgery and the management of advanced devices such as intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP) and Impella. The role involves working rotating 12-hour shifts, including every other weekend and holiday rotations during the winter season. The nurse will be expected to float between ICU and intermediate care units and must have at least two years of relevant experience in similar settings. EPIC electronic medical record system proficiency, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications, are required.
Job Details:
- Position: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse
- Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, starting on 10/05/2026, ending on 01/02/2027, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid BLS-AHA (American Heart Association), ACLS-AHA (American Heart Association); must have at least 2+ years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery settings, including experience with devices like IABP and IMPELLA; must have current CT surgery experience; must be separated from the healthcare provider for at least 6 months; orientation is weekly; proficiency in EPIC EMR system required; must work rotating day/night shifts and every other weekend, including winter holidays.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IABP and IMPELLA devices.
- Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The role necessitates adherence to hospital protocols, including BILH (Boston Integrated Health) coversheet submission at the time of application.
