Job Summary
The Operating Room (OR) Open Heart position is based in a large healthcare organization. This role involves providing specialized cardiac surgical care in a high-acuity environment. The selected candidate will work a 12-hour day shift with call responsibilities and must be capable of scrubbing for complex cardiac procedures.
Job Details
- Schedule: Dayshift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid VR (Ventricular Reconstruction) Certified Registered Nurse (CVOR/RN) license, minimum of 2 years CVOR operating room experience, prior travel experience, ability to scrub in cardiac surgeries, and willingness to take 24-7 call duty.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with complex CABG, valve, repeat cardiac procedures, ECMO, VAD, heart and lung transplants, PTE, cardiac trauma, or adult congenital cases.
- Additional Information: Orientation dates are scheduled for 10/26/2026, 11/02/2026, 11/09/2026, and 11/16/2026, with a required 26-week commitment. Excessive time off cannot be approved; limited time off is expected. Travel is required for this role. All travelers must be prepared for call duty, with three layers of call coverage available 24-7, which varies every six weeks. The position is for adult patients only; there is no pediatric component. Candidates may float between operating room locations but not different facilities.
