Job Summary:
Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Specialist – Pediatric Open Heart – Location: Childrens Hospital Colorado at Anschutz Medical Campus. This position involves providing specialized critical care nursing in a Level Three Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with a focus on open heart patients. The role requires adaptability to a rotating day and night schedule, supporting the hospital’s pediatric cardiac and intensive care services.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, rotating days and nights as per unit needs.
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Will consider Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with 6 years of experience; Colorado Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS). A minimum of 2-3 years of staff RN experience in dedicated pediatric cardiovascular pediatric intensive care units, with prior travel experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRNow), Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) experience, teaching hospital experience.
- Float: Client reserves the right to float or reassign personnel within their clinical competence to other areas of practice within thirty-five (35) miles of their originally assigned facility, as needed.
- Additional Information: No request for time off within the first two weeks of the assignment is permitted. Medical and religious exemption requests for seasonal influenza vaccination are accepted.
