	<li> Release the goal of being perfect all of the time &ndash; it is just not possible nor realistic; instead, focus on being the best version of yourself.</li>
	<li> Acknowledge and accept your entire range of emotions, which might include anger, sadness, disgust, ambivalence, frustration and fear, to name just a few. Learn skills to process your feelings which will help you build resilience over time and with experience.</li>
	<li> Set realistic expectations&mdash;for yourself and the person you care for. You can&rsquo;t be all things to all people.</li>
	<li> Understand the skills you need to care for the participant and which ones you can or cannot perform. For instance, window washing might be beyond your scope of services.</li>
	<li> Eat good nutrition instead of stress-snacking, and limit your alcohol intake.</li>
	<li> It may be hard to find time to exercise, but it&rsquo;s the best cure for depression and increases your endorphins.</li>
	<li> Sleep seven to eight hours a night if possible. It&rsquo;s incredible how you can cope with so much more when adequately rested.</li>
</ol>
