<p>During Nurses Month, we&rsquo;re spotlighting RN, Christina P. In this blog, she shares her thoughts on why she chose a nursing career, how she hopes technology will impact healthcare and her advice to future nurses.</p>

<h2>Why did you become a nurse?</h2>

<p>I knew two things. One, that I wanted a secure job. Two, that I wanted the work I was doing to matter. To have a positive impact on the world. Nursing just seemed like the logical choice.</p>

<h2>What advice would you give someone starting out in your field/profession?</h2>

<p>I would tell a new nurse that confidence in yourself is key. You know more than you think. As a novice nurse or even as a new travel nurse, it&#39;s normal to feel out of your element. I can&#39;t tell you how many times trusting my gut and advocating for my patient has saved their life.</p>

<h2>What do you like about working with Cross Country MSN?</h2>

<p>Cross Country has been my primary registry agency for a while now. They have been supportive and responsive to all my needs. I appreciate Cross Country for making the process simple and efficient.</p>

<h2>As technology continues to evolve, what excites you about the future of nursing?</h2>

<p>I eagerly await discoveries that will make preventative measures more accessible and affordable to patients. As a bedside nurse, it&#39;s the heartbreaking reality of witnessing patients suffer due to factors beyond their control that weighs heaviest on my heart. Whether it&#39;s a lack of education or limited resources.</p>

<h2>Do you have a particular story of a patient that really impacted you?</h2>

<p>No individual story will ever beat the general reflective moments Yes, there are those days where miracles happen and your heart soars. But nothing compares to the fulfillment of knowing that, in a flawed and challenging system, your actions have brought someone back to life or enhanced their quality of life. That&#39;s the ultimate reward.</p>
