  facilities across the U.S. and the Caribbean Islands&mdash;which means you can
  pretty much count on a number of opportunities to choose from.Placing you in a
  job that meets all your unique preferences is always our goal.Depending on
  your specialty, we may not have a position in your first-choice location at
  the exact time you want to travel, but we will do our best to find you another
  job in an equally satisfying locale.Keep in mind that our client&rsquo;s needs
  change daily, so you might see that front-runner location down the line.&nbsp;

<h2>What is the typical length of a travel nursing assignment?</h2>

  Assignments generally last about 13 weeks, but can be anywhere from 8 weeks to
  52 weeks depending on the facility and assignment. Alternatively, you may
  decide to keep renewing your contract with the same facility, or the facility
  may decide to offer you a permanent position.&nbsp;

<h2>Do you offer shift differentials?</h2>

  Yes. You can earn up to an additional $2 an hour per pay period when you work
  evening, night and rotating shifts. This amount can vary by facility and
  region; some facilities will pay a higher differential for weekend or crisis
  shifts in times of high patient census. Once you have identified your travel
  locale and workplace, you can discuss these differentials with your recruiter.

  Can you tell me about available positions before my completed paperwork is on
  file?
</h2>

  We receive and fill positions daily, so by the time your application is
  processed, our available assignments can be completely different. Plus, we
  need detailed information about your skills, work experiences and travel
  goals&mdash;which we&#39;ll get from your application and skills checklist.
  All of this information helps us match you with the most suitable

  If I like my assignment, can I continue to work at that facility or go
  full-time?
</h2>

  Although the majority of assignments last 13 weeks, many travel nurses choose
  to extend an assignment at the facility&#39;s request. Sometimes, the match is
  such a perfect fit that the traveler becomes a full-time employee after the
  assignment is completed.

  If I&#39;m on assignment with Cross Country Nurses and find that I don&#39;t
  like it, am I obligated to stay?
</h2>

  The answer to this question is usually yes.Any contract can be broken, but in
  the travel nursing profession this is never encouraged and there are always
  financial penalties and repercussions associated with this action&mdash;which
  is why you need to know every detail of your travel agreement before signing
  on the dotted line. A personality clash with a co-worker does not give you
  legal grounds to abandon your assignment. On the other hand, an
  employer/facility that fails to abide by the terms of your contract can give
  you a way out, but in the long-run, going down this road might not have a
  favorable outcome.Whatever the reasons for your discontent, seek help from
  your recruiter.Keep in mind that if one assignment falls short of your
  expectations, the next one might exceed them. Regardless, the choice to
  continue traveling after you complete your assignment is purely up to
  you.&nbsp;

  If the facility decides I&#39;m not meeting their needs, can they let me go?
</h2>

  Like you, facilities are obligated by the terms of the contract. They do their
  best to make sure they&#39;ve selected the right candidate; however, in cases
  of documented clinical or behavioral issues, the facility may cancel the
  contract. Cross Country TravCorp&rsquo;s Clinical Liaisons are trained
  advocates for our travelers, and usually mediate to avoid such drastic
  circumstances.&nbsp;

<h2>
  If I take a 13-week assignment, am I expected to work for the full 13 weeks,
  or does some of that time count as on-call or other free time?
</h2>

  The duration of your assignment specifies the number of weeks you will be at
  your assigned facility. Within that timeframe, you are expected to complete
  the required number of hours and shifts specified by the terms of your
  contract. Specific schedules and pay rates for over-time, on-call, and holiday
  hours are worked out in advance between the traveler and the facility. As long
  as you fulfill your shift/hours obligations, you can enjoy as much free time
  as you want within that 13 week period.
