    speech-language pathologist Ashley P.! Ashley shares why she decided to
    become a school SLP, what she loves most about working with the Cross
    Country Education team and schools, and what she would tell school
    speech-language pathologists (also called school SLPs or school speech
    therapists) just embarking on their careers.

  <h3>Why did you become a school SLP?</h3>

    Since I was in middle school, I have volunteered with various organizations
    working with children and adults with special needs. I always knew I wanted
    to pursue a career in which I&rsquo;d get to continue working with children
    who have special needs, but I did not want to become a teacher. I found
    speech-language pathology, and I&rsquo;ve never looked back.&nbsp;

    What do you like about working as a school speech therapist with Cross

    I like that Cross Country Education has a network of so many schools! I like

    What kind of advice would you give to school SLPs just starting out in the
    field?
  </h3>

  <div>
    Be ready to be a life-long learner! As technology advances and more
    discoveries are made regarding autism and other disorders, our field changes
    and grows. Know that this job can be stressful and try not to take that home
    with you. On the other hand, however rewarding you think it may be, double
    that. This is a great career choice that I would highly recommend for people
    who enjoy working with others and changing lives.&nbsp;
