 others interested in this rewarding field. This month, we’re spotlighting an amazing Speech Language Pathology Assistant, Arianna J.

Here’s why Arianna decided to become an SLPA, what she enjoys most about working with the 
Cross Country Education team and schools, and what advice she has for SLPAs just embarking on their careers.

<h3>Why did you become a SpEd provider in your modality?</h3>
<p>
 Following my undergraduate career in 2019, I held a position as a Bilingual Instructional Assistant in a 
 high school setting. By working alongside each student, I was confided in and invited into their personal lives. 
 The countless interactions inside the classroom ultimately pushed my decision to pursue a career in the speech and 
 language world to ultimately improve the quality of life of bilingual students, as well as those with special needs. 
 Since becoming a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), I have been provided with more than enough challenging, 
 yet teachable moments that have sculpted my mentality, mindset, and professional philosophy. As a school-based 
 Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, 
 I can witness and contribute to the development of a child alongside a team of powerful providers.

What do you like about Cross Country Education?
</h3>
<p>
 Cross Country Education has provided me with immense support and opportunities to grow as a Speech-Language Pathology 
 Assistant! The company is powered by all modalities and endorses growth across the board! Cross Country also provides 
 the opportunity to grow within a more personal team, as we are assigned to supervisors and Leads. Additionally, it is 
 extremely rewarding to be able to connect and collaborate with providers of all modalities within CCE: Behavior, 
 Occupational Therapy, Counseling, School Psychology, etc. What joy it brings me to run into another CCE provider at a shared school site!
</p>

<h3>What have you liked about your experience working at schools with Cross Country Education?</h3>
<p>
  At one point in my professional journey, I had limited opportunities to connect and collaborate with providers of different 
  modalities. As a result, it occasionally grew challenging to support a child’s development. By working at schools with Cross 
  Country Education, I am immediately integrated into a team! There is 
  constant reassurance that there is more than enough support to tackle the adversity of a school setting while in a team.
</p>


<h3>What kind of advice would you give to those starting out in your field?</h3>
<p>
 Connect, connect, connect! Building your network of SLPs and SLPAs will support your overall 
 development and introduce you to unfamiliar settings and areas of expertise, while also enhancing your 
 professional strengths! Lastly, do not be afraid to engage with and learn from other modalities! 
 It can be extremely fun integrating tips, tricks, and activities of other specialties in therapy sessions!
