Job Details & Requirements
- Worksite Setting: Hospital | 2 locations
- Scope of Work:
- Will work between 2 sites (not in the same shift) *Both sites are stroke certified
- Wide variety of ED patients with focus on lower acuity patients
- Typically 1-2 patients/hour per provider per shift
- MD shifts run 3p-1a, 5p-3a, and 9p-7a - MD is always present on nights
- 80% Adult | 20% Peds
- Level III Trauma
- Typical cases for PA's:
- Laceration repairs
- L&D
- Minor cases | consults
- *PA's are expected to see any patient complaint, but are not expected to perform invasive procedures such as central lines, intubations, lumbar puncture
- There aren't any patients an APP isn't "allowed" to see, but in general the attending will see the critically ill patients and evaluate STEMI/Stroke patients
- Perform admin tasks (radiology review, blood work review when needed, as this is generally performed by employed staff)
- May be required to help perform Triage/Tech responsibilities
- Must have ED experience
- Must have EMTALA education
