- Is there call? We wouldn't utilize locums on weekends unless/until they were interested and had solid experience at our facility and a background in OB.
- Schedule: M-F for 4-5 days/week, a mix of 8-12 hr days, 40+/- hours/week.
- How many CRNA’s and how many anesthesiologists onsite? *approx. 30 permanent/7 per diem CRNAs and equal # of permanent MDAs & pool MDs too. Any given weekday about half are physically here.
- Is this supervised or medically directed? *ACT model with supervision, never medical direction. CRNAs see their own patients, induce, emerge, all care BY THEMSELVES unless they desire a helping hand, which is always available but may not be a supervising anesthesiologist.
- How many OR’s? 8-9 MORs + 5-6 ASU + 2 Eye center + 2 EP lab rooms are typical CRNA assignments. OB is high-risk and busy but we usually avoid for locums unless they're experienced and interested.
