Position Overview: 

  • Deliver high-quality, in-person interpretation that ensures seamless communication between Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, their peers, and school staff.
  • Leverage expertise in Deaf culture and education to actively promote student independence, social integration, and academic confidence.
  • Collaborate with the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team, teachers, and families to align interpreting services with the student’s personalized learning goals.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree from an accredited Interpreter Training Program (ITP)
  • Valid Pennsylvania Sign Language Interpreter Registration
  • Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 (required) or National Interpreter Certification (NIC) from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID)
  • Strong background in Deaf Education and experience working in a K-12 school setting
