"Location:Long Beach, CA Schedule: Full Time / Hours between 8am & 4:30pm. Pay:$38 - $45 - Depending on Experience Job Type: Temporary Assignment Job Summary:The Registered Dietitian (RD) will conduct nutrition assessments and follow-ups as needed to assess participants’ nutritional status and provide appropriate medial nutrition therapy (MNT), such as therapeutic and mechanically altered diets, oral nutritional supplements or enteral nutrition recommendations, dietary counseling, nutrition education, food security resources, and coordination of care with other IDT disciplines. The RD will support Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) compliance by planning menus to meet requirements, conducting quarterly CACFP foodservice audits, and maintaining required CACFP documentation. The RD will support meal service by planning therapeutic menus, maintaining diet records, coordinating diet changes with the Food Preparation Coordinator, and conducting monthly food safety audits. The RD will conduct in-services as needed for the kitchen staff and/or IDT members to ensure accurate and evidence based nutrition care practices. Work Environment:. Work is in an office environment, climate controlled through central air conditioning Required Skills and Abilities: 1. Understanding of nutrition assessment fundamentals: comprehensive assessments, clinical data analysis, EHRs, interpreter utilization, motivational interviewing, and nutritional counseling. 2. Ability to provide individual and group nutrition education/counseling for chronic disease management. 3. Knowledge of clinical considerations for elderly and low socioeconomic status populations. 4. Understanding of dietetic and food safety fundamentals: therapeutic diets, menu modification for compliance or therapeutic diet needs, CA Retail Food Code guidelines, and institutional foodservice. 5. Ability to multi-task, prioritizes assignments, and meets deadlines. 6. Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and virtual meeting platforms. 7. Ability to provide technical support to clinical and/or foodservice management processes and technology. 8. Strong communication skills including presentation skills and interpersonal skills for relationship building. 9. Ability to analyze data, report findings, and provide recommendations for future implementation. 10. Understanding of statistical analysis techniques for quantitative and qualitative data to assess program effectiveness. 11. Demonstrate enthusiasm and vision for continuous quality improvement. 12. Able to perform responsibilities with minimum supervision. 13. Advanced competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and virtual meeting platform."
