BH Specialist - Specialty Kids InterventionsLocation: Rancho Cucamonga, CaliforniaSchedule: Monday through Friday 8a to 5pPay: 25.90/hourRequirements: Bachelor degree in Social Work or related fieldJob Type: 6 month contract Summary: Under the direction of Supervisor, BH & Substance Use Disorder, this position may engage in a variety of activities to serve members, including working as part of a telephonic team assisting members in crisis, assisting members in crisis to access long term supports and services, assisting members in crisis to access to appropriate behavioral health and substance use disorder services, assisting behavioral health providers in the BH network to improve crisis response time, supporting BH Care Managers to assist members who have chronic mental health and substance use disorders with self-management, engaging in projects to improve member experience with care, and working in quality improvement projects and initiatives.This position, like all positions within the BH Department, is expected to model behavioral health principles of relationship-based care, as well engage in promoting education and understanding of behavioral health and its importance in whole health, to those within the community. Key Responsibilities: 1. Assist the Member with care coordination (i.e., PCP appointment, Provider appointment, ABA, etc.) and ensure linkage to services. 2. Assist families with identifying appropriate Behavioral Health Treatment (BHT)/Qualified Autism Service Provider (QASP) providers who can complete assessments and provide applied behavior analysis (ABA) services.3. Assist members with ancillary services such as Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy, to close the loop in getting the member connected to services.4. Provide education on the BHT Benefit and other health plan benefits.5. Assist Members with filing grievances.6. Take calls from Member Services, Behavioral Health Call Center (BHCC), etc. to assist members with their needs and/or requests.7. Engage and collaborate with other departments, including but not limited to, Member Services, Utilization Management, and other internal departments as needed to ensure all the needs are met for the member.8. Assist with Members who are aging out of the BHT benefit by outreaching and providing education regarding the transition. 9. Process changes of providers for ABA services when assisting members telephonically.10.Perform any other duties as required. Education & Experience One (1) year Health/Behavioral care agency, agency serving children with autism or developmental disabilitiesExperience working successfully within a team, and experience in developing and maintaining effective relationships with both customers/clients and coworkers is requiredBachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, or another social science or related area from an accredited institution required Key Qualifications Proficient in the use of computer software to include but not limited to: (e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel, Power Point)Excellent interpersonal skillsValid California Driver's License required Knowledge Requirement: Familiar with working with Children and Families with Developmental Disabilities. Experience with working with teams.
